Grants and Planning and Planning for Grants Workshop
The Rural City of Wangaratta and illumin8 bring you this business workshop designed to help micro and small businesses get ‘ready’; to get ready for grants, for business and, a bit of life thrown in.
Did you know there are over 5,000 community and business grants worth nearly $100B currently open and available?
In this workshop, we’ll cover the how’s, where’s, and why’s of grants:
- how to get ‘grant ready’;
- where to find; and
- why you should apply.
While this list may appear backwards, being ‘grant ready’ means getting ‘business ready’. Being ‘business ready’ is all about planning, the old adage - fail to plan, plan to fail.
Specifically, on grants, we’ll cover the following:
- overview of the current landscape
- how and where to look for grants
- being getting ‘grant ready’
- grant writing
- relationship with funders
Expanding on ‘grant ready’, we’ll delve into planning. The workshop will lean toward business, but, as micro and small business owners, with the lines between work and life blurred, we’ll touch on life.
In preparation for the workshop, here are a few questions to consider:
1. What do you want your year to be defined by?
2. Based on what you give your business this year, what do you want it to give back? Time? Money? Warm Fuzzies?
3. Given your answers above, what has to change?
This will be an interactive workshop from which you will gain access to tools and resources (most of which are free) to prepare you for grants, for business and make this year the best, whatever that looks like for you.
